Why We Built StoreMaker

A few years ago, we watched a family member struggle to take their small textile shop online. They tried Shopify — the USD billing was too expensive. They tried other tools — the setup took days and still needed a developer. They gave up and stayed on WhatsApp.

That moment stuck with us. Millions of Indian sellers — home bakers, saree shops, tiffin services, handicraft makers — have great products but no easy way to reach customers beyond their phone contact list. They deserved better.

So we built StoreMaker from scratch in Tamil Nadu, for Indian sellers. A platform where signing up takes 10 seconds, UPI and COD work out of the box, everything is priced in rupees, and you never need to write a single line of code.
